This was a good interview by Gov. Huckabee. You can watch all of the parts here.

I thought the host's comparison saying that telling a woman that they can't have an abortion was to much control over her sovereignty was rather ludicrous. He made is sound as though pregnancy and childbirth were so horrible that no one should have to endure it under against her will. Good grief.

So We Went to a TEA Party

My husband and I went to the Fort Worth TEA Party last night. Thousands were expected to show up through out the Metroplex last night. I would estimate that at least 4000 people came to the Fort Worth one as Lagrave Stadium holds 4,000 people and it was pretty much packed. I know that the Arlington (between Dallas and Fort Worth) party had about 2500 people.

We got there after Gov. Perry left (I still think he is just being a shrewd politician before the governor primaries), but we did hear Rep. Joe Barton. It seemed rather ironic that the Republicans were the main sponsors as they did plenty of big government stuff when they were in charge. It made my husband wish we lived closer to Burleson where The Star Telegram said all the "fringe" was going to be.

There were lots of flags. Many people, like my daughter, brought their American flags. There were also quite a few Don't Tread on Me flags. The signs were mostly homemade and very interesting. Lots of kids had signs like "Don't Mortgage My Future". Grown-ups had made up their own slogans like "Liberty is all the stimulus we need."

Mike Huckabee has a poll up asking, "What happens now?". It is an interesting question. I think that further action should ignore the federal government and concentrate at the state level. The federal government (especially President Obama) isn't listening, but the states are getting fed up. Just take a look at the 25 or so states that have some sort of 10th amendment resolution in the works. Here is a video about it. About halfway through is a map showing the states with resolutions.

As this is obviously not just a Texas phenominon, I am leaving you with links from elsewhere. Shawn at Caffeinated Thoughts shares his impressions of the one in Des Moines, IA. WorldNetDaily has coverage from around the country.

Things That Make Me Go RRRRRR!

First thing. . .

How did it escape me that Compean and Ramos were released from prison in February (though the official sentence ended only a few days ago)? This has probably been all over the Internet and news. Here I am the last to know. Sigh. Anyway, I was certainly glad to hear about it. Just annoyed not the hear about it a month ago.

Second thing. . .

A Oakland, CA pastor, Walter Hoye, has been arrested and sentenced to 30 days of jail time and a fine of slightly more than $1,000 for approaching a woman outside of an Oakland abortion mill. You can read the Life Site News perspective here and the San Francisco Chronicle perspective here. It seems that Mr. Hoye broke a law that forbids people coming within 8 feet women entering abortion facilities. How peacefully coming within 8 feet of anyone could be a crime is beyond me! (As a side note, according to his Facebook page, he is a fan of Institute for Creation Research, Mike Huckabee, the Bible, and the Declaration of Independence. I think I could like this guy if I ever met him.)

Lots to Comment on

I have been sick the last few days. I have been reading things and thinking, "Oh, I should post something about that," but haven't felt like it. Today I am feeling a little more energetic. So here they are.

40 Days for Life
From the Day 6 (Sunday) e-mail the report was 33 babies confirmed to have been saved because of the vigils. You can see the number go up on their website (top right). When I went there earlier today it was up to 51. Praise the Lord for these lives that were saved. May He bless their parents for choosing life.

This is a clip from the Day 5 e-mail. It is of interest to me because Abilene, TX is where my mother and aunt are participating in 40 Days for Life. It shows the lies and deception woven throughout PP.

Abortion is sold on lies:

"It's a choice."

"It really isn't a person."

"It's only been six weeks; nothing's there yet."

"It's a fetus, not a child.:

A funny thing happens once you start to lie -- it's hard to keep your story straight!

The 40 Days for Life team in Abilene, Texas found that out right as the campaign began. The local newspaper interviewed Paula, the campaign director. She told the reporter that the Planned Parenthood center in Abilene did "medical abortions" (usually that means the RU-486pill) as advertised on their web site.

A defensive spokeswoman for the clinic then told the reporter that no abortions were done in Abilene. But either way, Planned Parenthood trapped itself. Either the web site is wrong or the spokeswoman is wrong.

The good news, though, is that thanks to the questioning of the local 40 Days for Life team, the newspaper did a follow-up story and discovered that the Abilene facility is indeed licensed to do abortions!

Now one entire community is wondering if Planned Parenthood can be trusted.

Human Rights vs. Climate Change

Cornwall Alliance pointed out that Sec. of State Clinton told the Chinese Government that her climate change worries outranked her human rights worries for China. Now that is just shameful.

All of this makes me wonder how many people claiming Christ are more concerned about saving the planet then about saving babies and ending abortion.

Hooking Up

Townhall has an interesting article by Karin Agness about the plague of hooking up (sleeping with somebody you hardly know) on our college campuses. She mentions some books on the subject. Then comes these two paragraphs:

These authors are finally figuring out that hooking up is not an isolated experience of a few college students, or a fad. Rather, the hookup culture dominates college campuses. The authors use different methodologies and analyze hooking up from their own perspectives. They all conclude that hooking up has serious negative consequences for women, whether in the form of sexually transmitted diseases, infertility, depression, or problems with trust in future relationships.

Surveys, interviews, and statistics have convinced these authors of such dangers. Despite the evidence, many college women have not taken notice.

This is very sad to me. Every time young women buy into one of Satan's sexual/reproductive "freedom" lies they are the ones that get hurt.

Not only are women more likely to end up with a sexually transmitted disease than men, they more quickly tire of the sex without commitment. Instead of leaving women empowered, liberated and fulfilled, it ends up leaving women disappointed, confused, and hurt.

By participating in the hookup culture, women continue to perpetuate it, and this discourages dating.

Sexting

As if hooking up in college wasn't bad enough, high school students have taken to sexting (sending naked pictures of yourself with your cell phone). There is an article from Townhall by Maggie Gallagher about this. Here is the ending paragraph.

After all, if the thought that their fellow students, their teachers, their employers, their college admission officials, the entire football squad, their mothers and the local district attorney may well see these cell phone photos is not enough to discourage teens -- then we really have a problem on our hands.

It makes me sad that so many of our young ladies see themselves in such a low way. What happened to dignity and purity and self-respect?

Gov. Huckabee at CPAC

I was glad to see that Gov. Huckabee was invited to CPAC this year. If you would like to watch his speech, here is a link.

States Rights

HT: JR at A Keyboard and a .45
Judging Truth has an interesting post about the Texas' state rights bills that I posted about a few days ago. Here is a little snip.

Measures such as HCR 50 and HCR 66 are designed to allow states like Texas to protect their economies from the destructive fiscal policies enacted by the Federal government. They allow us the freedom to govern as we see fit according to the original intent of the Constitution and the set up a legal means for challenging imposition of Federal laws which infringe upon state’s rights. I think it is about damn time that this happened.

The question then becomes, are we facing a revolution? The answer will be played out over the next few years. I have never been one to be an alarmist, conspiracy theorist nutcase or wildly speculative about the future. I tend to look towards the past for lessons learned and approach things from a more logical and analytical standpoint. However, with recent events unfolding as they have, it is hard not to wonder if the fabric of this nation can hold or whether it will tear itself apart under the strain. These will be very interesting times ahead.

Politicians on the Bailouts

HuckPAC has posted an article by Mike Huckabee about the bailouts. I thought you all might find it interesting. Here are a couple of paragraphs from it.

The idea of a government bailout in which we’d entrust $700 billion to one man without Congressional oversight or accountability is absurd. My party or not, that is insanity and I believe unconstitutional.

Will there be far-reaching consequences without some intervention? Probably, but we honestly don’t know since we’ve really never seen this level of greed and stupidity all rolled into one massive move. But may I suggest that letting “Uncle Sugar” step in and bail out the billionaires who made the mess will be far worse and will start a long line of companies and individuals who will demand the same of the government---which last time I checked means that they will be demanding it out of YOU and ME. This is not money that Congress is risking from THEIR pockets or future, but ours. Many if not most of us have already experienced lost value on our homes, retirement accounts, and pensions. Now they’d like for us to assume some further risks so they won’t have to.

I like Mike Huckabee. There are a lot more good parts to his article, but you will have to zoom over there and read it yourself.

As far as John McCain goes. . .
According to Yahoo News, he wants to his campaign in order to zoom back to DC and "work for a bipartisan solution". McCain also said that he would stop all advertising, fundraising, and campaign events.

So is McCain sacrificing politics for the good of the country, or is he just being a smooth politician?

For more opinions on McCain's move to ditch his campaign, go to Kevin Tracy.

OneMom also has an interesting post about Ron Paul's opinion on the bailouts. And as an aside, Ron Paul recently endorsed Constitution Party candidate Chuck Baldwin for President.

Huckabee Heimlich

According to MSNBC, former Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee put the squeeze on a politician at the North Carolina Republican Party convention, but in a good way.
The former Arkansas governor performed the Heimlich maneuver on Robert Pittenger, Republican candidate for lieutenant governor, at a lunch Saturday.

Just thought I would share.

Eye Roll to Huckabee

Yahoo News has a story about Huckabee wanting to be McCain's VP. I am disappointed in him for this. Especially the part where he says that McCain was always his second choice (after himself).

Why Birth with a Surgeon?

One of Gov. Huckabee’s ideas that I liked was his emphasis on preventative health measures. The idea is do the things that are healthier and far less expensive instead of waiting for a health problem with an (expensive) cure. The theme is to have a health system instead of a health care system (that waits until things are serious before taking action).

I was often tempted to ask him about maternity care in America on the blogger conference call. I never did because it is not necessarily a presidential issue, but I thought I would post about it now.

I find the maternity care portion of our health care system particularly annoying. In 2006, the US had the 2nd worst infant death rate of any developed nation (followed only by Latvia) according to this CNN article. Our maternal death rate is on the rise (though still rare), according to this 2007 article in the Boston Globe.

And to top it all off, we spend more per baby than most modernized countries. (I couldn’t find a link for that, but in your gut you know it is true.)

Why is this? In my opinion, we would be much better served as women and a country if we stopped going to surgeons for a God-designed function of a woman’s body. OB/GYNs are, first and foremost, surgeons. They spent many years after medical school at a teaching hospital in a surgical residency program and then an OB/GYN residency. If you think that they are prone to not use all of these well honed surgical skills, think again.

I acted as labor support (doula) for a while in Arizona. Every birth I attended was a hospital birth. The doctors often saw themselves as “saving” the woman via all sorts of interventions even when she did not want or need saving. Few doctors knew much about normal childbirth. I say this not to fault them. Their training, after all, is in intervening. So can we blame them when they do? And those services are sometimes necessary. For example, I have a friend who has a condition that makes pregnancy/childbirth very dangerous (her sister almost died in labor because no one new she had it). So my friend is signed up for a c-section at the end of the month.

But most women (around 85-90%) are low risk. Their bodies are perfectly formed to allow a baby to develop and give birth. So why send a healthy woman to a surgeon? All over the developed world there is another, safer, healthier, less expensive system in place. Certified midwives attend most deliveries. Great Britain’s government is even looking for a way to make midwife homebirths (as opposed to a birth center) more accessible. Check out the BBC News article here.

I know that giving birth at home with a midwife raises the image of leftist hippies, but I think that it is really a vertical issue. Both sides of the isle should stand up to the powerful lobby of doctors and usher in a freer, better maternity health care system. At least, we should have a choice. (In some states, women have few legal out-of-hospital choices besides unassisted homebirth.) In Arizona, Medicaid can be used for Certified Nurse Midwives. I can only imagine how many women and babies have benefited from this (I and my son are among them). I can only imagine how many tax payer dollars have been saved. In my case the amount saved was on the order of $30,000, but I won’t go into details on why right now. The average savings would be about $10,000 per delivery.

Along these lines, I stumbled onto a movie called The Business of Being Born. I give it four stars. It did a good job of covering the issue, but the f-word was left in a couple of times. Also for those of you sensitive to it, there was full nudity (in a completely non-sexual birthing way). Here is a link if you would like to see a preview.

UPDATE:
Also, if you would like to learn more about midwifery in your state, go to http://www.birthpolicy.org/default.aspx. They have state by state resources.

On to 2012

I am saddened by the loses tonight, but I am still hopeful. In 2012, I will again support the most godly man/woman I can find. In the mean time, I plan to support people of character on a local/state level. I also plan on being involved in social conservative issues here in my town/state. God, please bless Mike Huckabee and his family. I truly hope that he will run again in 2012.

Texas to Have Her Say in Presidential Primary

My step-dad went to the Mike Huckabee rally in Abilene, TX yesterday. Even though it was in the middle of a work day and it was snowy yesterday, he said that the room was packed with enthusiastic supporters. My step-dad said Gov. Huckabee did a great job on the speech. As a secret surprise Chuck Norris was also there.

I went to a Huckabee pre-election prayer service yesterday. It was great. Afterward I got some signs for my polling place and some sign-wave signs. I put the signs out last night and hope they weren't stolen by today. I plan on taking my kids to the polling place at lunch to wave signs. (Who can resist 3 and 5-year-old political activists? ;)

I am looking forward to seeing what happens in the election today though I won't be on Hucksarmy.com watching the results come in. (This has been my m.o.) But today I will be at the precinct convention submitting FairTax and Human Life Amendment resolutions.

McCain-Feingold May Bite McCain in the Butt

Hat tip to www.ktracy.com for pointing this out. Read the whole thing here.

Assuming that it’s legal for Senator McCain to break his agreement with the FEC without permission (which it’s not), the man has two difficult choices. First, he can stay on the Ohio and Deleware ballots and probably win most of those delegates but be required to stay within the spending restraints set up by the FEC. Or, Senator McCain can hand those delegates over to Huckabee and hope to lock up the nomination further down the road.

If McCain loses both Texas and Ohio, he faces a serious risk of losing the nomination. If McCain wins at least Ohio, he’ll be more likely to lock up the nomination still, but he will be limited to spending about $50 million dollars between now and the GOP convention in September, which the party ironically moved back a month because they thought it would give them an edge in November.

Odds are, of course, John McCain will continue to violate Campaign Financing laws, some of which he wrote when he pushed McCain-Feingold. He’ll be on the Ohio Ballot and he’ll break his legal spending agreements because he figures he’s above the law.

Democrats really don’t care if he’s on the ballot or not. Their interest is in keeping McCain’s spending at a minimum by forcing him legally to comply to spending caps of the FEC.
Howard Dean and dozens of liberal lawyers are already hard at work seeing to it that McCain obeys the law.

Since the Huckabee campaign is trying to bury this, the only chance for justice will come from the Democratic Party. They’ve already put McCain’s application on their website. Click here to view it.

http://www.democrats.org/page/-/pdf/20080104_mccainfiling.pdf

Page 6 explains that McCain’s name is on the ballot because he was accepting matching funds.

I personally hope the take McCain's name off of the Ohio ballot. I usually don't agree with the Dems., but here I am glad they are following up on this.

Down But Not Out!

A great post over at http://voteforhuckabee.blogspot.com/

With 3 more states/districts in the books, McCain battled back from his crushing loss in Kansas, another loss in Louisiana, and a 200 vote narrow win in Washington, to take 3 no surprise wins.

We all knew that McCain would take BLUE state Maryland, and BLUE D.C. There were some hopes for Huckabee to keep it close in Virgina, but in the end, the population make-up favored McCain. Virginia is a state with a HUGE military presence (both active and retired). Huckabee dominated the less populated Western part of the state, while we must remember that the Northern part containing the pentagon, is really just a suburb of D.C.

The pundits have been swimming like sharks waiting for something to finally nail the coffin shut on Huckabee. They will no doubt call this yet another end of the road for Huckabee. (Just like when he was dead after N Hampshire, dead after S Carolina, dead after Florida, and dead after Super Tuesday.)No realist in the Huckabee camp expected anything but a "blow for blow" battle down the stretch. There is not going to be some magic sweep of states by Huckabee. McCain still has some wins up his sleeve. This Potomac Primary was prime territory for a McCain sweep, and he did just as expected, picking up most, if not all, of the 113 delegates available. There may even be one more McCain punch coming in Wisconsin (another Blue State that Romney would have taken) before we get back to Huckabee territory.

There is going to be a dry stretch between Wisconsin and Texas, where all you will hear about are these Huckabee losses over and over. The delegate count won't change in that time frame, but with each passing day, McCain will get a little deeper into the minds of America as the Republican nominee and will continue to be reinforced as such by the media. It is up to us to keep the chatter alive and the energy high. The tide is trying to turn to McCain, our job is to hold it back until Texas.

So what does the Home Stretch look like?

Huckabee's race really continues when he hits Texas on March 4th. A HUGE delegate state that Huckabee looks to not only win, but do so in a very convincing manner. He also looks to steal Ohio and Indiana, and could very well outright dominate in N Carolina, Kentucky, Mississippi, and Nebraska.McCain will no doubt grab the last 2 Blue small delegate NE states of Vermont and Rhode Island (and Wisconsin as mentioned above). Questionable states that will most likely be close in final delegate count split, are the ones that Romney would have done well in: Washington (the actual primary), Pennsylvania, S Dakota, Oregon and Hawaii. Meaning, even if Huckabee "lost" all 5, the delegate split should be fairly even between the two candidates. So that would mean Huckabee could take 7 more red states (some of them by double digits plus big ole TX), lose 3 blue states, and split 5 Romney states. That's a recipe for a brokered convention!Don't fall for the media spin you will hear between now and Texas. You will only hear McCains delegate count about a million more times from tonight until March 4th. What they won't tell you is that McCain is about to go through the Huckabee gauntlet of states! In closing, I would like to tell all Huckabee supporters to realize that times like this are what make or break a team. If you've ever seen a favored team trying to break the spirit of the underdog, you know it's all about the ability of the underdog to stay mentally in the game - no matter what the other guy does. The knockout punches keep coming, and our job is to get back up off the mat each time, with more vigor, more determination, and more enthusiasm than before.

If we stay resilient and focus on where Huckabee can win, and not sit around listening to the pundits, WE CAN TAKE THIS TO THE CONVENTION! This race is not over as much as McCain would love it to be. Despite his recent victories, the facts have not changed. The real red states will still go to Huck. Conservatives are still going to vote for Huckabee. McCain will continue to lose key states.McCain has looked a touch better because people are starting to compare him to Hillary and Obama. My dog looks more conservative when compared to those two political misfits - but McCain and his stances have not changed. He is the same guy today as he was before he started this contest. His back turning to the republican party has not been forgotten. And if he makes it to the general election, the opposition will be RELENTLESS in pointing this out! (in fact they've already started) Huckabee must continue the fight to the convention. No only to save this party, but to have a chance in November to keep this country out of the hands of Hillary or Obama!I must warn you now, this race is about to get ugly. The pressure to make Huck drop out will be intense. He will be accused of hurting the Republican party's chance in November every day he stays in. The blows will be low, the spin will be dizzying. I urge you to stay strong!

Keep fighting Huck's Army! I refuse to give this election over to the choice of liberals and independents, while the South and Heartland get pushed to the back of the bus. We still have a choice, and we continue to fight for him. We demand a conservative! We demand our voices be heard and refuse to have our nominee chosen for us!We will take more ground! ON TO TEXAS!!!

Not Just McCain

For Those That Say "Do the Math"

CBS News has this story today by Joy Lin. Click here to read the whole story.

It may be miracles he’s espousing, but Mike Huckabee’s done a little math of his own. Even if he might not be able to attain 1,191 votes necessary to win, he’s banking on the possibility John McCain can’t either.

“If John McCain doesn’t get 1,191 delegates, this goes to the convention, all bets are off,” Huckabee told reporters. “And after the first ballot anybody can end up being the nominee.”

So what if Karl Rove went on CBS' Face the Nation saying it’s implausible that Huckabee will get the numbers necessary to win the nomination. Huckabee’s response: “Karl Rove has also maxed out personal contributions to John McCain … The fact the opposing team has their cheerleaders and band blowing songs against me hardly motivates me to quit. It only motivates me to play harder.”

For Huckabee, the game is not over. “I’m really not very persuaded by the party officials and the party establishment who come out now and are saying 'Oh, well John McCain has 700 delegates, we oughta just quit,'” said Huckabee. “When they wrote the rules, it said you had to have 1,191. So why did they write the rules for that game of play and now want to change the rules, that’s crazy. And so, you know, I’m playing by the rules that were written for me and I’m not trying to make them and I’m not trying to break them, so we’ll continue doing it.”

Yeehaw! Huckabee Wins Kansas, Louisiana, and Possibly Washington

Last night Mike Huckabee proved that he is still in this game. He won Kansas by a landslide. At final count he got 60%, while John McCain only got 24%. The race was tighter in Louisiana, but Mike Huckabee won agian. The final percentages were: Huckabee 43, McCain 42. Washington still hasn't reported all of its counties (insert eye roll here), but the race is tight there. Right now with 87% reporting, McCain is ahead by a couple hundred votes. So off we march to Chesapeake Bay.

UPDATE:
There is now 93% reporting. McCain is still winning.

Differences Between Huckabee and McCain

K Street Mole has a great post about the two remaining candidates. Here is one difference I hadn't thought of.

Supply side tax cuts: McCain doesn't believe that lowering taxes helps the economy and ultimately boosts government revenue (opposed the Bush tax cuts); Huckabee supports pro-growth tax-cutting policies, recognizing they make the U.S. economy more competitive internationally and help create jobs.

I encourage you to go read the rest of it yourself.

Update:
I just got the FRC voter guide. Here are the differences between Mike Huckabee and John McCain according to them.

Bioethics/Stem Cells and Embryos
Mike Huckabee would not permit federal funds to be used for leftover embryos derived from in vitro fertilization or embryo destruction research. John McCain would.

Mike Huckabee would support a federal law prohibiting states from engaging in research in which a human embryo is destroyed. John McCain ?

Promoting Stronger Marriages
Mike Huckabee would support a U. S. constitutional amendment to define and Protect marriage as the union of one man and one woman. John McCain would not.

General Issues
Mike Huckabee supports legislative initiatives that emphasize border secutity. John McCain does not.

Dr. Dobson Endorses Mike Huckabee

I am endorsing Gov. Mike Huckabee for President of the United States today. My decision comes in the wake of my statement on Super Tuesday that I could not vote for Sen. John McCain, even if he goes on to win the Republican nomination. His record on the institution of the family and other conservative issues makes his candidacy a matter of conscience and concern for me.

That left two pro-family candidates whom I could support, but I was reluctant to choose between them. However, the decision by Gov. Mitt Romney to put his campaign "on hold" changes the political landscape. The remaining candidate for whom I could vote is Gov. Huckabee. His unwavering positions on the social issues, notably the institution of marriage, the importance of faith and the sanctity of human life, resonate deeply with me and with many others. That is why I will support Gov. Huckabee through the remaining primaries, and will vote for him in the general election if he should get the nomination. Obviously, the governor faces an uphill struggle, given the delegates already committed to Sen. McCain. Nevertheless, I believe he is our best remaining choice for President of the United States.

(NOTE: Dr. Dobson made these statements as a private citizen. This article is for informational purposes only and should not be construed as a reflection of the opinions of Focus on the Family or Focus on the Family Action.)

Mitt Romney Suspends Campaign

Mitt Romney has suspended his campaign as of today. To all of his supporters, I have a few words. If you are pro-life, consider Mike Huckabee. He is in favor of a national Human Life Amendment. His record as governor is 100% pro-life. In fact he was just endorsed by Kansas for Life. If you are pro-marriage, consider Mike Huckabee. He has been married one woman and plans to stay that way for life. He is no friend to the homosexual activists. If you are pro-second amendment, consider Mike Huckabee. He was the first governor to have a concealed handgun permit. He has been praised by the Gun Owners of America. If you are concerned about illegal immigration, consider Mike Huckabee. He has a 9 point plan including building a fence and has signed a no amnesty pledge. If you are concerned about taxes, consider Mike Huckabee. He supports the FairTax. He cut taxes 90+ times as governor.

HUCKABEE GRASSROOTS TO ROMNEY SUPPORTERS: GIVE MIKE ANOTHER LOOK

Huck's Army troops: Huckabee's conservative credentials are realMcCain will struggle to beat Hillary or Obama in the South -- Huckabee won't

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The 17,000 grassroots "troops" of HucksArmy.com are encouraging Gov. Mitt Romney supporters to take another look at Huckabee. They have set up a welcome and question and answer forum at http://forum.hucksarmy.com where Romney and Huckabee supporters can interact."Although many have been misinformed, we really believe that Mike Huckabee and Mitt Romney have similar credentials and conservative positions," said Lucas Roebuck, Public Affairs Officer for HucksArmy.com.

NO TAX INCREASES: Both Huckabee and Romney signed the Americans for Tax Reform Taxpayer Protection Pledge. John McCain has not signed the pledge (atr.org).

ENERGY INDEPENDENCE: Both Huckabee and Romney have said energy independence is vital for American security and would make it a top priority of the administration.GUBERNATORIAL

EXPERIENCE: Both Huckabee and Romney believe that the experience of being governor is most beneficial when preparing for the presidency. Romney was governor for a term in Massachusetts; Huckabee was governor of Arkansas for over a decade.

SECURE THE BORDER NOW: Both Huckabee and Romney opposed amnesty. Both support getting the Mexican/American border fence done in the first months of the next president's term.

SANCTITY OF LIFE: "We must promote a culture of life," said Romney. No candidate has done more to promote life than Mike Huckabee, according to the National Right to Life PAC.Huckabee supporters also believe Huckabee is the most electable GOP candidate at this point. "Republicans don't win if they don't carry the south," Roebuck said. "McCain may be polling well in national polls, but how will he do against an Obama or Clinton in the critical Southern states? Both Barack and Hillary have a unique appeal to the South that only Huckabee can negate."If Obama is the candidate, Huckabee's oratory excellence will be critical in national Republican debates."Huckabee is clearly the best GOP debater," Roebuck said. "He's the one who will be able to face down the siren rhetoric of Obama in the general election."

About HucksArmy.comWith core values of faith, family and freedom, HucksArmy.com is an online grassroots movement not owned or operated by any candidate or political campaign. With more than 17,000 recruits, HucksArmy.com is dedicated to mobilize support for candidates who honor God and country.
