Good Song (even if it is country)

So, we have a 26-year-old assistant football coach who is quite creative and who is tired of Obama and his policies. He writes a song, and, as the new report indicates, he sends a link the song to everyone in his "personal e-mail list." Thus, he wasn't taking class time or practice time to tell students about his political views. He was on his on time, with his own computer, sending to his own list. And now he is fired? Come on people! If you don't like it, complain to the man directly. Ask him to take you off his list or something. But this is just crazy.

This is the quote from an article about Bryan Glover and the song that he co-wrote. Now I don't like country but this song has enough rock in it to like. The lyrics are great. And since Mr. Glover is now jobless, I am sure he could use whatever money can be made from purchasing his song. (It only costs $1.29.) So here are some of the lyrics and the link to the website.

IndoctriNation Movie

There is another independent movie that is being made that I am looking forward to seeing. It is called IndoctriNation. You can see clips and the trailer here. (They aren't allowing embedding at this time.) This documentary ties the indoctrination of our kids in the public school system to the decline of Christianity in America.

One thing that the movie points out is that there is no such thing as a worldview neutral education. All education seeks to transform the mind not just with straight facts but with ideals. I think many Christians don't want to believe this. They want the broad way, the easy way to be the best way when it comes to education.

I know that people can send their kids to public school and end up with devout Christians. I also believe that this is only possible with intense re-doctrination when the kids are at home.

I also know that some parents have no other choice. But I would say that this number is far fewer than the number of Christian parents that send their kids to public school.

Jesus Cheer

I found this OneSiteNews article encouraging. After ONE person lodged a verbal complaint with a school in GA about the scriptures the cheerleaders had on banners at a football game, the girls were told to stop. But instead of scripture free football games the complainer now has a stadium full of scriptures as the community has rallied around the cheer squad.

They have come with homemade signs with scriptures and warriors (the school mascot) for Christ t-shirts, etc. They have come not a few at a time, but have packed the stadium. And I say God bless them for not cowering like so many communities would have done.

San Diego County's Response

There is an update on the post below. The county officials have given their side of the story.

It looks like most of the time all of the cars fit on the couples property but occasionally some people have to park on the street. A neighbor complained one of these nights and the county responded. Here is a clip from the article.

Wallar said it's the officer’s job to determine what kind of event is hosted at Jones’ house to decide what part of county code the event falls under.

"The Bible studies are one that's probably in a very gray area," Waller said.

That gray area may be causing the problem. Wallar said the county only cares about how any event impacts the surrounding neighborhood.

"We want to make sure -- whether they're on a public road or a private road -- that they're parking safely; that we can get fire trucks in; that we can get police vehicles in," Waller said.

Jones' attorneys told 10News it sounds like the county is backing away from their original warning.

If a few cars parking on the street is a problem in San Diego County, I would hate to try to host a baby shower or birthday party there.

This neighbor complaining reminds me of a Bible study I went to where the host warned me not to park in front of a certain house. Apparently the man living there was often drunk and threaten to shoot anyone who parked on "his" section of street.

I wonder if the public outcry had any bearing on the county's change of heart?

San Diego County Tries to Shut Down Home Bible Study

A couple in San Diego have been told that they will have to get a permit (costing thousands) to continue to have their weekly home Bible study of about 15 people. Read about the case here.

So what happened to religious freedom in San Diego County? Unless of course the county is also pursuing Monday night football gatherings or poker nights that meet on a regular basis or weekly network marketing meetings. Somehow I doubt it.

No Christian Heritage in the New Capital Visitor Center

World Net Daily has an article about the new visitor center at the Capitol. Here is the opening lines.

American taxpayers have spent more than $600 million on a new visitors' center at the Capitol in Washington, D.C., and it will have acres of marble floors and walls, photographs of Earth Day, information about an AIDS rally and details about the nation's industrial sector. What it will not include is America's Christian heritage.

This is certainly not the first anti-Christian act of this kind. And it probably won't be the last.

British Judge OK's Sharia Law Use in Britan

I usually don't post about things overseas, but I think cases like this set precidents (in the minds of our Supreme Court justices). I think we need to be aware of these things. This story is from OneNewsNow.

Lord Chief Justice Nicholas Phillips' endorsement has already created a huge controversy across Britain. In a speech at an East London mosque, he said that Islamic legal principles could be employed to deal with family and marital arguments and to regulate finance. Phillip's recommendations came just five months after Archbishop of Canterbury Dr. Rowan Williams suggested that Islamic law could govern marital law, financial transactions, and arbitration in disputes.

Robert Spencer, director of Jihad Watch, says the problem with Sharia law is that there is always more Sharia to accommodate. "Once they get into the idea that Sharia is legitimate in terms of family law, then it's going to be hard to draw a line because family law in Sharia and Islamic law infringes upon many other things," he continues.

According to Spencer, Sharia law allows women to be treated like commodities. "Apparently that is just fine by the Chief Justice of Great Britain," he comments. "He doesn't seem to realize just how much women are devalued in Islamic Sharia law -- even the ostensibly benign version of Sharia law that he thinks he would be instituting," Spencer notes. "[O]bviously this is a man who doesn't know what Sharia is really all about."

Terrible, Good, and Something to Look Into

We will start with some terrible news. Great apes have been given human rights in Spain. Here are some quotes from LifeSiteNews. I added the bold.

A Spanish parliamentary committee yesterday gave its support to a resolution that would grant so-called "great apes" the rights to life, liberty and freedom from torture.

According to numerous mainstream reports, the environmental committee's resolution is supported across party lines and is expected to be passed by parliament, thereby coming into effect as law.

"This is a historic day in the struggle for animal rights and in defense of our evolutionary comrades, which will doubtless go down in the history of humanity," said Pedro Pozas, Spanish director of the Great Apes Project (GAP). "We have no knowledge of great apes being used in experiments in Spain, but there is currently no law preventing that from happening."

According to a Reuters report, it will also become illegal to keep apes in circuses, or for the purposes of television commercials or filming.

Since it's inception GAP has lobbied in favor of a UN Declaration on Great Apes. That Declaration demands, "the extension of the community of equals to include all great apes: human beings, chimpanzees, bonobos, gorillas and orang-utans.

"The community of equals is the moral community within which we accept certain basic moral principles or rights as governing our relations with each other and enforceable at law."
The list of "moral principles or rights" includes the three "rights" included in the Spanish parliamentary committee's resolution. Currently, however, it is not clear what penalties, if any, would be levied against an ape should an ape violate these moral principles by, for example, killing or injuring a human being or another ape in a case where it was not necessary for self defence.

To those who have been observing events in Spain these last several years under the socialist government of Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, it comes as no surprise that such an unprecedented resolution would be passed first in Spain.

As bioethicist Wesley Smith explains on his blog in a post on the Spanish resolution, "Of course the purpose of this isn't to merely improve the treatment of great apes - which could be accomplished as it already has been in some places via normal animal welfare statutes. Rather, the explicit point of the GAP is revolutionary - to demote human beings from the uniquely valuable species and into merely another animal in the forest.

"Once people accept that premise," he continues, "Judeo/Christian philosophy goes to the guillotine allowing the utilitarian agenda to proceed unhindered, leading in turn to the moral value of the weak and vulnerable among us becoming archaic, resulting in their loss of the right to life and being used instrumentally for those deemed more valuable. (Lest you think we exaggerate, check out Peter Singer's writings, and who can deny that his values are triumphing?)"

Smith concludes, "In the world being born out of the ashes of the sanctity/equality of human life ethic, value will be subjective and rights temporary - depending on one's individual capacities rather than humanity. And we will see apes - animals (and eventually other animals), which are completely oblivious about the hue and cry being mounted against human worth in their names - being viewed as more important than some humans."

Note how evolution, socialism, and the UN are all tied in to this. As a side note, I would love to see the US get out of the UN.

Now on to some good news. Yesterday the Supreme Court overturned DCs hand-gun ban. To me this proves that the Court can still read the Constitution and rule in favor of the people. I find that encouraging.

The U.S. Supreme Court has struck down Washington D.C.'s ban on handguns, saying individuals have the right to own guns.

In a 5-to-4 landmark decision Thursday, the high court struck down the 32-year-old ban, saying it violates the second amendment of the U.S. Constitution. The court also struck down the city's requirement that legally-owned firearms be equipped with trigger locks or kept disassembled in the home, saying that makes it impossible for citizens to use arms for the lawful purpose of self-defense.

And now I leave you with something to look into. I was unaware that many vaccines use human fetal tissue. I was also unaware that there are ethical alternatives. http://www.cogforlife.org/ was recommended on Faith2Action.org's Hot Battle Action Steps. If you go to COGForLife.og, there is a link on the left side that says vaccine sources. It gives a list of vaccine brands that use non-human fetal material for the vaccines. So, if you vaccinate your children, ask your doctor for the brands that don't use baby parts.

Colorado Against Christian Free Speech

Janet Folger's article from yesterday's WorldNetDaily is full of dreadful tidings. Here is a quote.

SEXUAL ORIENTATION, marital status ... [which] is unwelcome or objectionable or not acceptable, desired, or solicited.

Forget the public library display of "banned books week" – its "banned books week" all year round in the entire state of Colorado – if those books, paper, posters, folders, manuscripts, pamphlet, writing, print, letter, notice, advertisement, or crayon drawing is said to be calculated, intended, or thought to discriminate against homosexual behavior, or the agenda to rewrite marriage and adoption laws.

We'll Show You Tolerance by Our Hate Mail

God bless, Oklahoma State Representative Sally Kern. I learned about her from reading Janet Folger's article on WorldNetDaily. Rep. Kern made a speach that has led to an onslaught of hate e-mails and other shows of tolerance. Here are some quotes from it.

What they're trying to do is send a message of intimidation to those people who are taking a stand for traditional marriage and against the homosexual lifestyle. They want to silence us, is what they want to do. And it's happening all over the state. You know, the very fact that I'm talking to you like this, here today, puts me in jeopardy. OK, and so, so be it.

This is one of the more polite responses Rep. Kern received from homosexual activists. (She received about 30,000.)

I heard what you said and you should be killed you stupid c---- b----! along with George W. Bush! Christianity is the cancer in our society and should be eliminated!

It seems to me that the homosexual community is proving Rep. Kern right. Just speaking her mind has at least caused her to receive death threats.

Here is another quote from her speech.

Because what's happening now, they're going after, in schools, 2-year-olds. You know what, they're trying to get early childhood education. They want to get our young children into the government schools so they can indoctrinate them. I taught school for close to 20 years and we're not teaching facts and knowledge any more, folks; we're teaching indoctrination.

This is affirmed (though they would never call it indoctrination) by the video "It's Elementary: Talking About Gay Issues in School"

Co-producer Debra Chasnoff stated: "What's clear in the film is that the younger the kids, the more open they were. If we could start doing this kind of education in kindergarten, first grade, second grade, we'd have a better education."

We are talking about my 5-year-old being indoctrinated with "having two daddies is great" when in reality children are designed by the Creator to need a mother and a father. The insidiousness of this makes me sad and frustrated and outraged. Once again, a great reason to homeschool. What your children learn, they will think. What they think, will change their behavior. Government schools cannot have my children.

B.C. Teacher Kempling May Lose Teaching License for Defending Christian BeliefsCited for "unbecoming" conduct for simply being candidate for Christian federal political party, amongst other charges

QUESNEL, BC, February 6, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The last half a decade has not been easy on B.C. teacher, Chris Kempling.

In 2003 the soft-spoken educator was cited by the College of Teachers for professional misconduct, after he wrote in to a local newspaper outlining Christian teachings on homosexuality. After a hearing on the matter, Kempling was found guilty of the charges, and his teaching license was suspended for a month.

Kempling appealed that decision in the Canadian court system, all the way to the Supreme Court of Canada. In the process he spent "well over" a hundred-thousand dollars in legal fees, he says. In the end, the Supreme Court denied his appeal.

And now Kempling has discovered that he is facing yet another citation from the College; and this time around, says Kempling, it is possible that he could lose his teaching license altogether.
During a telephone interview with LifeSiteNews today, Kempling sounded beleaguered and apprehensive. He told LifeSiteNews that he is "dismayed" by the most recent development in what has been an almost four-year-long, and extremely stressful and costly ordeal for both him and his family.

In an e-mail sent out this morning, Kempling told supporters that he received a letter informing him that he is being cited on numerous counts for conduct "unbecoming" of a teacher. One of the counts on which he has been cited, he says, is simply for being a candidate for the federal political party, the Christian Heritage Party.

"They have cited me for participating in a CBC radio interview where I quoted the Bible saying that homosexual behaviour is a barrier to salvation," he wrote, "for contributing an essay discussing the philosophical differences between social liberals and social conservatives (published in the Calgary Herald on December 29, 2003), for publishing a scholarly article in a German family journal on the topic of homosexuality, for offering orientation change therapy as part of my private counselling practice and mentioning this in a radio interview, and, incredibly, for 'knowing' that an article written by Christian Heritage Party leader Ron Gray in support of me was posted on the party's website."

"They also cited me for being 'the local representative of the Christian Heritage Party.' This is certainly true as I was the candidate for the CHP, Canada's sixth largest registered political party, in the last federal election in the Cariboo-Prince George riding (I came 5th out of 8 candidates.)"

"I'm dismayed," Kempling told LifeSiteNews today. "I'm dismayed that activities entirely outside of the scope of my job and which have engendered no reaction or complaint would result in an additional citation…I'm dismayed that their reach is extending so far into my private life, and overriding the very clear provisions in the Charter for political freedom and for freedom of speech."

What disturbs Kempling the most, he says, is how closely the College of Teachers must have been keeping tabs on him, especially to have found out such a detail as that he published an article in a German magazine.

"I'm expecting another suspension," he said about the possible results of the impending hearing, in which he will defend himself against the charges in the citation, "but they have said that the penalty could include the cancellation of my license."

Kempling expressed that if he were found guilty of the charges, he would be willing to appeal once again, although the legal fees would be extensive. "My current lawyer is supplied by the B.C. teachers Federation," he said, "but she has made it clear to me that if I wish to appeal I need to find other council. She has no interest in taking it beyond the current level."

"This is extremely distressing for me and my family, and I would welcome your prayers," Kempling wrote to his supporters this morning. He has also appealed for financial help, to assist with the mounting cost of legal fees.

"It appears that I may have to ask those who care about freedom to help me defend myself again. I am not afraid to face them, but please do not leave me like Uriah to face the enemy alone….I am happy, because I know my Christian brothers and sisters will stand with me as I face this trial yet again."

Go See Expelled the Movie

My husband and I just got to see the not yet released movie Expelled. It was the director's cut (meaning 85% finalized) and the producer was present. This movie is about academic freedom. It talked about how many scientists are fired, censored, etc. for dissenting on Darwinism. But the movie also goes deeper, and deals with the social issues that arise when cultures embrace Darwinism. It is a great conversation starter. I hope everyone will go see it when it comes out in April.



BTW, this is one more reason to support Huckabee. He hasn't bought into all of the Darwin bull corn and the social ills that arise from it.

One Nation Under gods?

The wave of hatred against God and his people (AKA Christians) that is spreading across this country are truly disturbing. WorldNetDaily has an article out today about a Hindu that has opened the U. S. Senate with a Hindu prayer and the protesters that spoke out against him. I was greatly encouraged by the protesters. Here are some quotes about them from the article.

When Zed appeared in Washington his performance was interrupted by three Christians who prayed aloud in the name of Jesus during his chant.

YouTube shows Zed preparing to pray when a clear, loud voice came from the U.S. Senate gallery.

"Lord Jesus, forgive us, Father, for allowing the prayer of the wicked, which is an abomination in your sight," said a protester.

The Senate's sergeant at arms was instructed to restore order, but Zed was interrupted again.
"You shall have no other gods before you. … "

Three people were arrested for disrupting the Senate. But WND columnist Judge Roy Moore noted that wasn't the end of the story.

He reported that Ante and Katherine Pavkovic and their daughter Christan were ordered to appear in District of Columbia Superior Court, where a team from his organization, the Foundation for Moral Law represented them.

"When their case was called on Sept. 11, the prosecutor agreed to dismiss all the charges against them. Their simple trust in God's grace had touched the hearts of not only the arresting officers – who commented on what a nice family they were – but also the tough government attorneys in the Washington, D.C., justice system," he wrote.

God, embolden us all to stand against the government where necessary to defend you and your people. Help us all to remember that you are King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Help us to remember that the scriptures commanding obedience to the government does not include going along with evil. Other wise the first Christians would have gladly said, "Caesar is Lord," and rationalized it by saying, "Well, we have to obey the government."

Is That a Man in the Women's Bathroom?

WorldNetDaily has a disturbing article today. The article talks about a Maryland law that"arguably would allow coed locker rooms in public accommodations".

Here are some of the more disturbing quotes:

[Maryland Citizens for Responsible Government] said Leggett's signature on the law means even religious schools could be forced to hire transgender teachers "and then also allow cross-dressing but biological males in your daughters' school locker room."


"The county council frequently points out that the law excludes accommodations that are 'distinctly private and personal' – implying that 'distinctly private and personal' refers to bathrooms," the citizens protest group said.
However, "'distinctly personal and private' in similar state statutes is usually interpreted as referring to private clubs and associations, and not to bathrooms," said Susan Jamison, a lawyer from Poolesville.

Olivia St. John wondered about why such legislation was even considered, "particularly for a small segment of people described by the American Psychiatric Association as disordered?"
The answer? she found:"The Trasgen-der Law Center, or TLC – an organization dedicated to getting legal information into the hands of community members, attorneys, educators and others – designed a descriptive resource guide for transgender activists and their homosexual, lesbian and bisexual allies. The document, titled "Peeing in Peace," promotes "gender neutral restrooms" in all sectors of society. Not surprisingly, it was partially funded by Clinton supporter George Soros and the Tides Foundation, generously supported by Teresa Kerry, wife of Sen. John Kerry."

St. John continued, "The problem, according to TLC, is that many transgendered people have few safe places to go to the bathroom. They claim to 'get harassed … and arrested in BOTH women's and men's rooms.' One sufferer, who had clearly entered a restroom of the opposite sex, whined that he had been 'dragged out by security guards.'

"Amusingly, this sounds as if the fuss is over 'peeing rights,' or about who has the right to urinate where. But think again. Seriously consider that your child is likely to find transsexualism not only discussed but also actively practiced in his public school at some point," she said.

As WND reported, a resident, identified as "Lisa," wrote to her elected representative on the board: "From what I'm reading, the person with the gender identity confusion is being protected by what she or he FEELS he or she is. Thus, we'd have to protect this person's gender based upon what is in his or her MIND. So, if I'm in a bathroom all by myself late at night, and a man walks in, I am supposed to be okay with this? If I'm at a pool, in a women's locker room, and a man walks in – I'm supposed to be okay with this? This is truly unbelievable, and I'm embarrassed that Montgomery County is even spending its time on this piece of nonsense."

If you are against this and other such nonsense, please consider voting for and donating to Gov. Mike Huckabee's presidential campaign. If Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama are elected, we can expect to see this sort of thing on a national level.

Public Schools Ditch Religious Freedom Day

Religious Freedom Day is January 16th. Why is it that I have never heard of it. I mean I have heard of Black History Month, Arbor Day, Earth Day, etc., etc. Obviously I have never heard of it because it was not talked about in school or in libraries or in the news etc. Here is an interesting quote about it from California Catholic Daily.

"Public school teachers and administrators are confused and afraid when it comes to students’ freedom of religious expression,” says Eric Buehrer, president of Gateways to Better Education -- a national organization based in Lake Forest (Orange County) promoting greater awareness of Religious Freedom Day.

“This confusion results in public schools censoring students’ freedom of religious expression,” says Buehrer. “We get reports of teachers telling students they cannot talk about their faith; can’t talk about the birth of Jesus; can’t mention their faith in a homework assignment.”

Each year since 1993, the President has declared Jan. 16 to be Religious Freedom Day, and calls upon Americans to "observe this day through appropriate events and activities in homes, schools, and places of worship." It is the anniversary of the passage, in 1786, of the Virginia Statute of Religious Freedom -- an important influence on the First Amendment.

In addition to Religious Freedom Day, both Presidents Clinton (in 1995 and 1998) and Bush (in 2003) had the U.S. Department of Education issue guidelines on students’ religious freedom. Each time, the secretaries of education sent the guidelines to more than 15,000 school district superintendents and asked them to distribute them to administrators, teachers, parents, and students. But, like Religious Freedom Day, that request has also been largely ignored.

“I know of no school district that distributed the guidelines like the Department of Education asked them to,” says Buehrer.

Close to Home

Free Market sent me an update with a story I find truly disturbing. It is a short article. Here it is.

A Fort Worth mother was kicked off a bus this past week for reading the Bible to her children on the way to church. After Christine Lutz was ordered by her bus driver to stop reading the Bible to her children and told this was not the appropriate time or place for that, she disagreed. The bus driver pulled over soon after, and Mrs. Lutz and her children were escorted into a supervisor's van. Free Market's legal division has stepped in to represent Mrs. Lutz in the case. She is demanding an apology letter from the Fort Worth transit system. In addition, Free Market's legal division is seeking clarity from the transit authority in what has become a public debate, demanding that the transit system distribute a letter to all its drivers, informing them that individuals have the freedom to read the Bible while riding public buses.

This shows the anti-christian mindset arising in America today. If this had been a muslim mother reading the Koran, there would have been public outrage. Well, I at least plan to voice my displeasure with the Fort Worth public transportation.

Here is my response from Fort Worth Public Transportation.

On Saturday, Dec. 29, on Route 6, a T bus operator reported that a womanwas reading in a very loud voice. It is against The T's bus policyfor passengers to be loud or disruptive while riding the bus. Such busrules, as no loud or disruptive behavior, are a common practice withinthe public transportation industry to help ensure a calm and safeatmosphere and respect for all passengers. They are posted clearly atthe front of the bus.

After the passenger declined to lower her voice, the operator calledthe supervisor to assist. The supervisor met the bus and explained tothe passenger that it was the loudness of her reading that was againstthe T's policy. The lady would not lower her very loud voice and so the Supervisor transported her to her destination and allowed her toread as loud as she wished.

It was not what she was reading, it was the very loud and disruptivevolume. She was asked to lower her voice, but refused. Otherpassengers on the bus were looking to the driver for proper enforcementof the rules.

This driver acted in a very courteous and professional manner toproperly deal with the situation. The T, as a public transit authority,has no policy against reading any type of material on the bus.
