And With Obama as President, It Could Happen Here

I found this article on LifeSiteNews.com. Here are some quotes from it.

On Friday, the Alberta Human Rights Commission ordered Alberta pastor Stephen Boissoin to desist from expressing his views on homosexuality in any sort of public forum. He was also commanded to pay damages equivalent to $7,000 as a result of the tribunal's November decision to side with complainant and homosexual activist Dr. Darren Lund. The tribunal has also called for Boissoin to personally apologize to Lund via a public statement in the local newspaper.

Most disturbingly, says Boissoin, is that the ruling calls for him to "cease publishing in newspapers, by email, on the radio, in public speeches, or on the internet, in future, disparaging remarks about gays and homosexuals." Boissoin wondered to what extent the right to freedom of expression in Canada will be deteriorated, stating, "I am not allowed to hold on to my views."

He concluded by commenting on the Remedy order and the entire ordeal, which over the last six years has consumed tremendous time, energy and money - both from the pockets of taxpayers and Boissoin.

"Absurd - beyond absurd. I will never make a public apology; I stand by what I said. My context has never been taken into consideration. Lund's context has always been taken into consideration."

This will not be the last edition to the Boissoin story as he admitted to LifeSiteNews.com that he "will be appealing to an actual court of law."

If you would like to show support for Mr. Boissoin, here is the information for the proper Canadian official.

Added your post to Gay Marriage - Don't Ask, Don't Tell Although not a part of the post, I understand Obama supports Gay marriage and intents to get rid of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell".

In the last days, evil will be called GOOD and good will be called EVIL. So it was as in the days of Noah, and so it will be in the last days.

I can't imagine how Paul must have felt in his prison cell, thrown in chains because of the the TRUTH of the gospel of Jesus Christ. How bitter sweet it must have been for him.

Bitter, because of the moral decay of society, and for the absolute hatred and intolerance of a people who "assumably" championed freedom and human right, yet when anyone spoke against a current issue or topic, it was immediately offensive and that person was thrown in jail, beaten, or even killed.

Yet it was sweet, I'm sure, because he was praising God for the awesome "realness" and evidence of the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He knew while in his imprisonment that his tormentors were following the devil's footprints and that his God was stronger.

He knew that this life is only temporary, and that the pains and agonies and injustices endured by those in Christ Jesus, were unfathomably outweighed by the blessings and salvation of a Holy and Loving God.

He also knew that the MOST important work that a Christian should do is the work of sharing the salvation and forgiveness of sins in Jesus Christ. That is the ONLY way to heaven, and many accept it, yet many more are driven to hatred and speak evil and murderous things against them who tell them that their lifestyle is sinful.

I am hopeful that this pastor sees this simple truth and rejoices in his trials and tribulations. I applaud him for standing up for Jesus and for standing his ground.
I pray that God eases his discomfort and that His blessings will be abundant.

In a way, I hope it might happen here in America, so that the sheep would be clearly divided from the goats, yet I worry that many will loose children, families and loved ones because of what the bible predicts about such constrictions on religious and moral freedoms, as well as the hardness of the hearts of many.

Consider this passage from Luke 12:49-53, in which Jesus is speaking.

“(49)I came to send fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled! (50) But I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how distressed I am till it is accomplished!

(51) Do you suppose that I came to give peace on earth? I tell you, not at all, but rather division. (52) For from now on five in one house will be divided: three against two, and two against three.

(53) Father will be divided against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.”

The storm IS approaching. What we must do is ask ourselves, are we REALLY prepared for it, or are we still comfortable in our future and "salvation" with Oprah and Obama?
